Dear Democrats:
Reading of the letter below and commentary.
Dearest Dems,
I see a lot of you acting like the Trump administration’s agenda is “business as usual” and that the old rules still apply in politics. They don’t. And they haven’t since at least 2015 when Trump was running for President the first time. Didn’t you know? Now you do.
I don’t know why only Rep. Al Green stood up during Trump’s speech to Congress and said something. And then you censured him! Um…we are not at a point in history where you can just throw people under the bus who actually are fighting the fascist takeover brought to you by Trump and Musk. Where were the rest of you at, anyway? Why didn’t I hear your voices too?
Oh yeah, you were obeying decorum. Wearing pink and holding up signs. It’s an empty gesture really. It’s not nearly enough! We are up against the Nazi Party come to America via Russia and white supremacist groups, and you’re holding up signs? Do you not know any of the history of Congress? Be disruptive! Resist! That’s what you used to say to us. Now you’re quiet, but you want money for your campaigns. Nope! Not until you DO something more than performative actions about the imminent threat to our democracy.
I was proud to call myself a Democrat for the last 20 years, but I don’t know if I can now because if anything, y’all look complicit in this coup on my country. With the exceptions of those Democrats touring the country talking to thousands of people at a time about how to resist, the rest of you need to wake UP! At least they are trying to do something productive. Rallying people IS productive. Helping the American people resist this threat is productive. Please see that and take appropriate actions to help us fight. You can do this! I know you can!
The American public, aka your constituents in each of your states and districts, needs your help in fighting this MAGA Project 2025 bullsh*t, this coup, this attack on our Democratic Republic. WE NEED YOU! Uncle Sam needs you too. More than ever.
So please start talking back to the administration. Start resisting. Make it difficult for them to fart, let alone enact an overreaching executive agenda! These are not the same rules as before, so adapt. Play the new game and win because we need real leadership right now. Zelensky-level leadership. Remember, these people aren’t your friends anymore. They supported an attack on the Capitol with many of you inside. Sh*t, they even brought a guillotine for the VP! WTF!? Why are you allowing these traitorous bastards to get away with any of this?
Did you hear the German saying that if there is 1 Nazi seated at a table and 9 others join him to chat, there are 10 Nazis at that table. Don’t be complicit in this coup on our country. You must do more than just speak out. You must rally us. You must lead us. If you won’t, others will. There is a void in the public discourse and you’re not doing what you need to do to fill it.
